these are great for cearel
I keep cornflakes and puffed wheat and such in these and the container holds about a weeks worth. the seal keeps out pests, but is not air tight, which is why I gave it four stars. For the value it is worth a dollar. I used to used old coffee and creamer cans which were ok but I like to be able to see in the container.

good storage
really like these storage containers. however, the 2 qt size is too small for my needs. what happened to the gallon and 3 qt sizes? and the lids shown are not the lids on the ones I have. those rounded lids won't allow stacking, while the old, flat lids will let you stack the containers. They hold nuts, grains, cereal, salt, sugar, all the basics. one gallon canister holds 8 lbs of salt or whole wheat berries.

Canisters
We are using the canisters as resuable cantainers for school fund raisers. Collecting "milk jugs" for penny drives and fund raisers is a hassel and sets back the projects. We can now resuse the canisters for a variety of purposes.
