Pieces fell out & could not be repaired
Don't buy this because the on/off mechanism falls out after a few uses and there was no way to repair it.
I was excited about these because they are small and compact and very bright. Sadly, they broke very quickly and several different methods for repairing the on/off push button didn't work.

Waste of time $$$
I bought 3 of these at the store in Tulsa OK. I opened up one and tried to put in the batteries and hook on the strap. The design is so bad that the batteries will not come out without great effort. The threads will not hold the cap on. The unit would not work at all and the strap take a mechanic to install - no instructions. Batteries where checked and the second unit was attempted without any positive results. Total waste of my $$$ and time. Not worth driving all the way over there from Sand Springs again to get money back. I did not bother to open the third one. All were going to be stocking gifts but cost way to much time and waste to do anything but toss them or save them for a reminder of the defective merchandise that they sell without testing them before the public. I also bought some batter op xmas lights that were worthless.

It depends
The ones shown in the picture are the good ones. These are the ones with the criss cross pattern. The new ones that replaced these have smooth lines down the side. I have bought two of these new ones only to have two of the three lights work on each. I figured out it has to do with the way the lights are put together. On the older ones, the lights are held together with a metal plate and soldered. The new ones just have the lights held in by a plastic plate with the wires twisted together. They fall apart after a couple uses. I won't be buying any more new ones.

You get what you pay for. ^_^
I buy these all the time from my local Dollar Tree. Great value. They are super bright with 3 bulbs so when one fails, you still have the other two. My family always stocks up on these when they restock in the store. VERY HANDY. During the past two days of blackouts, I've been navigating the streets and my house with these little things. Just place them on a cabinet or table at an angle and the room is lit. Also used these for Halloween. The lanyard string is too small to put around your wrist (even for a child), but you can carry it around on your fingers. Having said all that, each of these little suckers lasted for several months before completely breaking down from the wear and tear of 4-6 yr olds using and abusing them. :)
