Radio Control Planes
I started using the Readi-board for my RC airplanes about 3 years back. I used to build them from Balsa for the most part. Now with the foam board I can build a plane with minimal cost and it's fairly easy to get the foam to do what I want it to do. With some carefully placed support structure the airplane can standup to pretty severe aerobatics and with time the planes can be quite realistic. From the simple flat build to a complex design. I have built quite a few RC airplanes using this foam board, some with the paper still on and some with it peeled off. It bends easy and with some heat and rolling it can be molded into some complex shapes. I think I really enjoy building the RC airplanes more now than with the balsa kits as I have to modify the design to be built using the foam. Sometimes it works out Ok and other times it does not... Good thing, at a $1.00 a sheet I can design, build, crash and rebuild without spending a fortune. I highly recommend this foam board, try it and you like it! The models in the photos are scratch built, a PBY Catalina with a 80 inch wingspan and a 1939 Rearwin Sportster with a 60 inch wingspan that took almost a year and a half to build.
