Can I purchase merchandise that is on backorder?

Yes, you may order items that are in backorder status, meaning the product is on order and should be received in our Distribution Center within 30 days. If you wish to order items that are on backorder, you must provide an email address so our Customer Order Support department can keep you informed should the status of your backordered item(s) change. Unfortunately, if you are paying for your order with an electronic check, you are unable to order items on backorder.

How do I pay for my online order?

When I pay for my online order with a debit or credit card, when will the charge appear on my account?

Once your order is placed, we will put a Pending Authorization on your credit/debit card account for the entire amount of your order. A Pending Authorization means your card issuer will hold the funds pending shipment of your order. This will show up as a “Pending Transaction” on your account.

Once we’ve shipped your order, your credit/debit card will actually be charged. If your order is being shipped from multiple locations, you may see separate charges on your account for each shipment.

Do you accept purchase orders?

We do not accept purchase orders at this time.

What happens after I place my order?

You will receive a series of emails throughout the lifecycle of your order:

  1. Once your online order has been placed, you will receive an Order Confirmation email. This email will include order details, your order number, and an estimated delivery date (to a Dollar Tree store or to your location, depending on what shipping options you chose when placing your order).

  2. When your order is invoiced in our distribution center, you will receive a Shipping Notification email. This email notifies you that your order has been shipped and includes an estimated store pickup date. If you chose to ship your order via UPS, this email will include an estimated delivery date (to a Dollar Tree or Deals store, as well as a tracking number. In addition, this email will also include information about any changes to your order, such as cancellation of an item due to unavailability, etc.

  3. Once your order is received at the Dollar Tree or Deals store you chose when placing your order, you will receive an Order Receipt email. This email confirms that your order is at the store and ready to be picked up and includes your order information, order number, and a bar code. When you’re ready to pick up your order, you will need to take this email to the store with you, along with a state-issued photo ID or driver’s license. When shopping online, is there a minimum quantity that must be ordered?

If you are ordering a product that is sold in individual units, you must order at least the minimum number of units specified for that product (the minimum number of units varies by product and not all products are sold in individual units). All of our products are also sold by the case. The total number of units per case will vary by product. Items sold only in full cases will include an assortment of colors, sizes, and/or styles that cannot be altered or broken apart.

If the item I want to order is part of an assortment, can I only buy the ones I need?

If the item you wish to purchase is sold only in full cases, we cannot separate the assortment. You will have to check with your local Dollar Tree store to find the specific single item, if needed.

Can I return the items I do not need to the store for a refund?

No, all sales are final.

I see a store called “Deals” at the top of your website. How do I place an online order with Deals?

Deals is a Dollar Tree company that carries cool merchandise offered at extreme values. Shopping with Deals online is just like shopping with Dollar Tree online. In fact, you can place items from either site right into the same shopping cart and checkout. All your products will appear on the same order and you can choose to have your order shipped for free* to a Dollar Tree or Deals store near you. *Some restrictions may apply. Not all items are eligible for in-store pickup.

Are the items on the website the only Dollar Tree items available to purchase in larger quantities?

No. You may find an incredible item at a Dollar Tree store and think, “I need a couple cases of this!” We actually hear this a lot at Dollar Tree Direct and we’re happy to help you with your business/organization supplies, as well as large quantities of unique gift items, party supplies, and more. What is a UPC code and where is it located?

The UPC code is the 12-digit number located under the bar code of our products. The number includes the smaller digits on the left and right hand side outside the bar.
