Toy Platoon Reporting for Duty!
Help support the families of those who serve our country
Every day, brave men and women in the armed forces selflessly defend our country and the freedoms we cherish. When they deploy, they leave behind families that often struggle with day-to-day expenses and unforeseen emergencies. Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, provides emergency assistance and morale for our troops, the families they leave behind, and for wounded warriors when they return home.
Once again this year, Dollar Tree is partnering with Operation Homefront to launch our 2009 Holiday Toy Drive, running November 15th through December 15th. We hope you’ll join with us to show your support for our troops and their families — simply purchase a toy or care item and drop it off in a “Toy Platoon” collection box located in any of our 3,700 Dollar Tree stores nationwide. Operation Homefront will collect and distribute these items to military families in your area.
In 2008, Dollar Tree collected over 5.8 million toys donated by our customers for Operation Homefront. The toys were distributed at all U.S. military bases stateside, just in time for the holidays. Since last year, many stores have continued to support our troops and their families through Easter basket drives, back-to-school supply collections, and flood relief and emergency needs collections with Operation Homefront. Dollar Tree also supports Operation Homefront's care package program for troops through a monetary donation which assists with mailing costs.
Dollar Tree is both proud and humbled to support Operation Homefront again in 2009. We would also like to thank our customers for their incredible generosity and spirit.
