Of course, this is not a $20-30 umbrella nor would I expect that type of quality for $1. However, I didn't have an umbrella in my car and it was starting to rain, I was in the store, saw it and bought it. It is rather flimsy as other reviewers stated, but again, it is $1. In this case, when it is rainy and gusty simply tilt the umbrella a bit toward the wind, keeping the wind from going up and under the umbrella. That usually works to keep it from flipping inside out. I keep one of these in my car. I don't mind so much if I forget it somewhere, like I do (and have) when it has been a $20-30 umbrella!
