Our health inspector required this kind of baster-glad they did-it is wonderful.

I use this mostly to brush on BBQ sauce for meats before grilling. It's more for in the kitchen use though, not out on a hot grill. I love it and the fact that it was only $1. The only flaw is that it is difficult to get the smell out of it after using. I usually have to soak it and wash a few times.

Excellent pastry brush for the price
I've been trying to bake a lot more recently and as such, needed a pastry brush - previously I was only familiar with the kind that actually have bristles made from hair, but find that this is much easier to clean (I like that the top part with the bristles is detachable from the handle itself, allowing for more thorough cleaning and quicker drying) - the silicone doesn't have the stiffness of hair so there is a slight learning curve in using a lighter touch when working with this brush, and it's only heat safe to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, but for a dollar, I think this was an excellent purchase and I would rebuy it again if anything happened to this one.
