I love this shampoo!
I have long, fine hair and was tired of washing money down the drain. I am so glad I bet a buck on this shampoo. It is a thick, mild smelling shampoo. It doesn't seem to take much to leave my hair clean without feeling dry and stripped. I really like how this shampoo paired with a more expensive conditioner makes my hair soft, smooth and shiny.

Great for those allergic to many brands!
I was leery about trying a dollar shampoo, because I have allergic reactions to many of the name brand dollar shampoos. This one is very gentle and works great. Unless we opt for a specialty shampoo for some reason, it's the only shampoo you'll find in my house.

It's perfect
I've been searching everywhere for something to help with my dry hair issue. This stuff is amazing. I am really happy with it!
I combine it with the TRESemme moisturising conditioner and my hair feels thick and healthy, and it is really shiny! I wash my hair once every two days and this shampoo doesn't leave it feeling dried out like others I have tried.

Works...but is a little off-putting
I will agree that this shampoo does not lather very well in the hands, and when it's squeezed out of the container, it has a consistency more in line with hair gel than shampoo.
However, once applied to hair, it seems to lather just fine. And it smells pretty good, too, though the smell isn't overpowering, which is also a plus. I still don't like its appearance, but shouldn't the bottom line be whether or not it gets the job done? It's done fine for me, and the 20 oz. bottle seems to last forever.
However, I should mention that I'm a guy, and put little effort into my hair. Plus, I come from the philosophy that if it works, it's fine, regardless of how it looks/feels. But I know women don't usually have that outlook. Case in point: My wife won't touch this stuff, just because it comes out so gross.
So if you are of the female persuasion, may I recommend the Lucky brand shampoo, which is available at Deal$ (owned by Dollar Tree), and maybe even Dollar Tree stores. For some reason, I can't find it online at either website, but we picked up the shampoo and conditioner for a buck apiece, and it has the consistency and smell of the name brands for much cheaper.
As for me, though, I'm fine with Silkience.
